Pangandaran is a large fishing village situated on a narrow isthmus with Pangandaran National Park occupying the entire headland.

On either side to the east and to the west of Pangandaran village and the National Park isthmus are two beaches of volcanic black sand.

The Penanjung Pangandaran nature reserve is nearby on a peninsula connected to the mainland by a narrow neck of land. The isthmus is around 200 m wide. About eighty percent of the nature reserve is secondary rainforest. The flora of the nature reserve includes the Rafflesia. 

Pangandaran Regency is a district in West Java Province, Indonesia.  The capital is Parigi.  The district is bordered by Ciamis Regency and Banjar City in the north, Cilacap Regency in the east, Indian Ocean in the south, and Tasikmalaya Regency in the west.

With great potential in the field of tourism, the mission of Pangandaran Regency is "Pangandaran Regency. In 2025 it becomes a global tourism district, a safe and comfortable place to live based on religious norms.  The biggest potential owned by Pangandaran Regency is tourism, both coastal and river tourism objects.  There are many favorite tourist attractions both by foreign and domestic tourists.  The tourism objects in Pangandaran Regency are: Pangandaran beach, natural tourism park (Pananjung nature reserve), shark rock beach, Karas rock beach, Madasari beach, Karapyak beach, and river tourism namely Cukang Taneuh (Green Canyon), Citumang, Santirah.  There are various and quite complete hotel facilities with classes, restaurants and other entertainment venues.

Pangandaran is the most beautiful city that has full of adventure, for traveler who like nature and adventure trip this city will be perfect for you. This place also like an heaven and has competitive prices, cheap, and will always be remembered in your heart. here I will share my experience while traveling in Pangandaran

Things To Do In Pangandaran:

1. Attractions 

Tourist attractions in Pangandaran are very varied, presenting nature, culture and science tourism. some tourist attractions in Pangandaran:

a. Pangandaran Beach

b. White sand beach

c. Nature preserve (Cave, Rafflesia Flower, Animal (monkey, deer, snake, peacock, stone site)

d. Cave

e. Snorkeling

f. fishing

g. researching animals and rare plants

h. boating

i. sun bathing

j. natural phenomena such as sunrise and senset.

k. Swimming

l. surfing, and other activities.

2. Amenities

The existing amenities in Pangandaran include complete, such as hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, cafes, bars, ATMs, Money chargers, Travel Agents, Souvenir shops, traditional markets, and many other amenities that support every tourist activity.

There are many hotel in Pangandaran (guest house, villa, hotel)

You van book direct to hotel or you can book by travel agent, or by application from your phone.

3. Transportation

Transportation in Pangandaran has traditional transportation, public transportation, online transportation, and also provides rental of motorbikes or cars, or bicycles. The road conditions are very good, adequate and very well organized.

If you were travel from Jakarta, or Yogyakarta you may used Train or Bus, because Pangandaran Don’t have an airport yet.

From Jakarta by train : buy ticket from Jakarta to Banjar (the nearest train station to Pangandaran). And after that you can used bus or taxy or online transportation to Pangandaran.

From Yogyakarta by train : Buy Ticket from Yogyakarta to Banjar (the nearest train station to Pangandaran). And after that you can used bus or taxy or online transportation to Pangandaran.

If you were travel with bus is more easy, there are few bus that go direct to Pangandaran, from Jakarta although Yogyakarta is about the same. The fee from Yogyakarta by bus RP.90.000, from Jakarta maybe about the same (include 1 time meal) its take 8 hour.

But also there are many travel that serve you to Pangandaran.
